Whey Protein Shake -
Viewing: Roni asks if whey protein shakes can benefit him as his body doesn't absorb B12. Roni: I'm on a B12 (monthly) injection regimen b/c my body doesn't absorb B12. Is there any benefit to me using Whey Protein Shakes? Hi Roni, First of all, thanks for posting a question to us. While we are in no position to recommend changes to your diet, we can still provide information that you may find useful. Of course, be sure to consult your doctor if you wish to add supplements to your diet. Whey protein shakes are just high quality protein. They are sometimes fortified with vitamins, which may or may not help in you case. Since your body doesn't absorb B12, it is unlikely that consumption of whey protein shakes will do you any good (in the sense of acquiring more vitamins). Check back with your doctor on this. Whey protein is meant to help strengthen and build muscles. It may be beneficial to your overall health as long as you engage in regular exercise and adopt a healthy lifestyle. That means no late nights, less stress, and having an appropriate diet. Whey shakes are generally safe for consumption but there are always exceptions. To be on the safe side, always consult your doctor before consuming any supplements. |
