Can Whey Protein Be Taken With Milk
Can whey protein be taken with milk? The answer is a definitely yes. Now the question becomes, how much milk should be mixed with whey protein? That depends on a few factors.
1) The amount of protein needed on a daily basis. 2) When the protein is taken. 3) The final taste of the protein shake.
1) The amount of protein needed on a daily basis.
Everyone needs a different amount of protein each day. The actual amount depends on the lifestyle you are leading. Are you leading an active lifestyle, or a sedentary lifestyle? The more active the lifestyle, the more protein you will need. Those who workout regularly (at least 3 times a week) also need more protein for muscle growth and repair. Adding milk will give additional protein to the drink. So do take that into consideration.
2) When the protein is taken.
Your muscles are growing when you are resting. So that is the time to take more protein. Sometimes, a single serving of whey protein isn't enough. So you can add milk to enrich the drink. However, note that adding milk is not always necessary. You can always add additional whey protein powder for a higher protein amount.
3) The final taste of the protein shake.
It all depends on whether you like the taste of the drink or not. Some people just don't like drinking milk. So they would rather drink a pure whey shake than a milk shake. If you don't like milk, or if you are lactose intolerant, it's best to avoid adding milk altogether.
