GNC Homemade Protein Shake Recipes
So you got your GNC protein powder from your local health supplement store and you can't wait to try out the protein powders. Here are a few homemade protein shake recipes to help you get started.
The first thing you need is a good blender machine. Don't try to save on this. The price difference between a good blender and a low quality blender is only about $50. A high quality blender can last a lot longer, and your drink will taste better due to better mixing.
To choose a good blender means buying a blender with a powerful motor, and a high quality blade. The blade is used to slice up hard rock ice cubes. So if it's a low end blade, it will spoil after several uses. So always try to buy a better blender with a more powerful motor and a stronger blade.
Homemade protein shake recipe 1
1 scoop of GNC protein powder 1 glass of ice cold water 2 eggs
This is a simplified recipe. GNC protein powder can be consumed by just mixing with cold water. The powder dissolves instantly when it comes into contact with water.
Homemade protein shake recipe 2 - Protein power!
1 scoop of GNC chocolate whey protein powder 4 to 5 pieces of ice cubes 1 frozen banana 1 glass of soy milk or ordinary milk 2 eggs for extra protein Blend and drink immediately
Please note the amount of proteins for every homemade protein shake recipe that you use. For instance, if you just mix 1 serving of GNC powder with water and drink that, you are consuming about 20 grams of protein (according to what it says on the nutritional label). But if you add eggs and soy milk, you will be consuming an additional 15 grams of protein. That adds up to about 35 grams of protein in a single protein shake. Is that what you intend to consume on a daily basis? If not, you need to adjust accordingly.
The frozen banana is very important in your protein shake. It gives the shake a nice smooth texture - something like a milk shake. Besides, bananas provide additional health benefits and can help to prevent muscle cramps. Prepare the frozen bananas beforehand. Peel off the skin and pack them in a zip lock bag. They can be stored in the freezer for about a month or so.
You also have the option of using soy milk or ordinary milk in your homemade protein shake recipe. This comes down to your own personal taste preference. Most people just drink ordinary milk for extra proteins. But some people don't like the taste, or they are lactose intolerant. For such people, drinking soy milk will be a better idea.
To meet your daily protein needs, be sure to drink your shakes consistently. You will see better results if you stick to your nutrition plan on a daily basis. Whenever possible, try to pre-make your protein shakes and store them in the fridge. Pick one up when heading out for the gym. Or if you workout at home, simply take one from the fridge and drink it. That way, you won't procrastinate and put off drinking the shakes.
