Whey Protein Shake -
Viewing: Rodney suffered from some injuries and he posted this question... Rodney: I had knee surgery and a cracked tail bone. I cannot do sit-ups without pain in my tail bone or knee, so i am unable to work out my abs. Also, I was laid up for a year because of these injuries. Do you recommend any protein drinks with high protein and fat burning effects? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Hi Rodney, Thanks for your question. Looks like you got hit bad by injuries. As you mentioned that you have a cracked tail bone, we cannot offer you exercise advice. My suggestion is to consult a specialist and get a referral letter to go see a physical therapist. These are professionals who handle medical cases day in and out and they are in a better position to advice you on what exercises to engage in. Protein shakes will have minimal impact on your health if you can't engage in physical exercise. The reason is that muscles need stimulation in order to grow. Without exercise, protein alone will not get the job done. In other words, you can't sit around and expect protein shakes to help you lose weight. Hope that you will consider my suggestion to go see a specialist soon and get started on an exercise program. Perhaps you may need to start with some gentle exercises due to your injuries. Exercise can help strengthen your body and speed up recovery (if done correctly). Again, I must emphasize that you should get the assistance of professional medical staff to help you get adequate exercise. You don't want to risk worsening your injuries. But if you are able to get some form of exercising going, then yes! Whey protein shakes can definitely help you boost metabolism and burn fat. Of course, the best way to maintain your weight is to keep fat off and don't let fat build up in the first place. That means you should watch your diet and avoid eating junk food or foods high in processed sugar. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables as well as complex carbs. Note the calories that you are consuming per day so that you don't overeat. That will go a long way towards weight maintenance. Hope that helps. |
