Looking to lose weight fast and can't weight to try out one of those weight loss miracle pills for teens? Before you go running to the store to buy some weight loss pills, read this article to find out if such pills REALLY work.

Have you ever wondered how weight loss pills work? The weight doesn't just fall off by itself right? There is no such thing as a pill that will burn fat on your behalf. That is the job of your body. So how does weight loss pills work?

Pills manufacturers understand that when a person loses weight, he sheds either muscle, fat or bone density. For teenagers, losing bone density is rare, as most young people have strong bones. So it's either fat weight or muscle weight. Since teenage girls are not concerned about putting on muscle weight, they only want to lose fat. So all pills products are targeted at this single goal - helping teenage girls to burn fat. And hopefully, this is achieved with minimal or no effort.

Fat can be burned in two ways. The first way is to increase your metabolism with a more active lifestyle, and then let the body burn off the fat by itself. The other way is to eat less, so that the body can dig deep into the fat reserves when it needs energy. Usually, you will see the best results when you combine both methods. That is what all wise weight loss experts recommend - exercise regularly and eat right. Where do pills come into the picture then?

Because most people hate the idea of having to exercise and watch their nutrition, they turn to weight loss pills - hoping that they can get away with not exercising and then lose weight. These pills usually suppress a person's appetite or make them feel fuller so that they eat less. After a few weeks with a decrease in calories, the individual notices that she has lost several pounds and attribute this result to the weight loss pills.

But can you see what is happening here? All the pills did was to get the individual to eat less - i.e. a reduction in calories. And this can easily be achieved with a little knowledge and self control. Because such individuals don't have the right knowledge to eat well and the self control to eat right, they depend on the pills to control their diet. Usually, once they stop popping these pills, their weight balloon back to normal and they may even put on weight because now the body is in a deprived state - it's hungry for more food!

So you know where we are going with this article - it's NOT worth it to consume weight loss pills if you want to lose weight for the long term. Sustainable weight loss requires a commitment to exercise at least 3 times a week and to watch your daily diet.

Don't keep thinking that this is difficult to do. It is not once you get into the habit of exercising and eating right. Exercise releases endorphin into your blood stream, which makes you feel good. So after the first few hard sessions, you will start to enjoy your exercise. As for eating, once you figure out which foods give you more energy and burn more fat, you will begin ditching all the junk food that you have been consuming on your own! Get the mindset right and losing weight is a breeze.
