Whey Protein Shake -
Viewing: Ballerinas and other top athletes sometimes need to lose weight quickly before some competitive events. There is some dance coming up soon and then there is the realization that one has been over-eating (oops!). Now what?
First, there is no need to panic and resort to popping pills to lose weight quickly. BUT, depending on your goals, there may be a need to take some relatively more extreme measures if you wish to lose weight quickly. Here are some tips that really work. Tip 1. Watch your calories. You have put on more weight than you needed because you are not burning up the calories that you have been consuming. The exercise program doesn't even come into the picture at this point because no program will work unless you start watching your diet. For instance, if an exercise session helps you burn an extra 700 calories a day, and your basal metabolic rate burns 1200 calories a day, that means your body is capable of burning up to 1900 calories a day. But if you consume 2500 calories in a day (easy to hit if you are not watching what you eat), then you are overeating. A fast food meal may easily contain 1000 calories. Plus all the chips, soft drinks, etc...you get the idea how the number easily adds up. Tip 2. Increase cardiovascular activities. If you are a ballerina, instead of training 3 times a week, add on one or two additional dance sessions. The idea is to increase cardio exercises so that your body burns more calories. Each session should last between 45 mins to 60 mins. Jogging or doing aerobics at moderately intensity (you really sweat) also works. Cardio is well known for helping to burn fat really fast. If you can't last for the full 60 minutes, start out with 20 mins. Then proceed to lengthen the duration as your fitness level progresses. Tip 3. Eat clean. Throughout this entire website, you will see this simple piece of advice - eat clean. That means you should junk all foods that are oily and contains lots of sugars. Can you think of any oily foods? Fast food, deep fried chicken, sausages, etc. What about foods that contain sugars? Chocolate, sweets, soft drinks, cakes, etc. Have you been eating them regularly? If so, junk them completely if you want to lose weight quick! Instead, eat clean foods that are protein rich to help you repair and build lean muscle mass. If you are doing plenty of cardio, you don't have to worry about muscles becoming bulky. It's very unlikely as cardio will just keep your muscles from bulking up naturally. Eat plenty of steam vegetables, chicken, and fish. Take half a fruit every two days. Fruits contain lots of sugar as well and may add on to your weight. You will get the dietary fiber your body needs from vegetables so you don't really need to consume a lot of fruits. Tip 4. Don't forget your protein shakes. There is no need to hunt for supplements or weight loss pills - with the exception of protein shakes. Protein shakes are considered relatively safe to drink for most people as long as you are not allergic to milk products. You need high quality protein to help you repair your muscles quickly so that you can continue having effective workouts. Otherwise, you burn out very quickly and may even give up. Drink at least one protein shake a day, preferably right after your workout. Note that the above tips don't just apply to ballerinas. They apply for anyone who want to lose weight quickly in record time. For example, many bride to be wants to lose weight so that they can fit into a beautiful wedding dress. But the wedding date keeps drawing closer. Instead of panicking, re-read the tips above and make sure you keep your focus. You WILL succeed! |
