If budget is a concern, then consider normal grade protein powder. 2) Normal grade whey protein powder. Normal grade products are produced mainly for the mainstream market. Hence, such products enjoy economies of scale from mass production. Many fitness enthusiasts consume normal grade protein powder on a daily basis. Such products are great when you are just keeping fit for fun, or when you are undergoing training. When competition draws near, you can always switch to a premium grade powder. For general purpose usage, consider GNC whey protein. The product quality is great for the affordable price. If you workout at night, here are a few tips to keep in mind. 1) Drink protein shakes early in the morning and right after your workout. If you truly understand sports, you know that rest is very important. Sometimes, rest management can be more important than training. That is because you get stronger only with adequate rest. Many amateurs injure themselves or fail to get stronger because they under-rest. In the morning, before you go to work, drink 1 protein shake. While you are at work, your muscles still need the protein for repair and growth. You will feel stronger during your workout at night. After your workout at night, consume another protein shake. Your body is at rest while you sleep at night. That is a great opportunity for your muscles to get some rest. Inevitably, you will get stronger. Of course, you must always be mindful of the total amount of protein you are consuming per day. The best way to do that is to have a good eating plan and stick to the plan! 2) Don't eat heavy stuff after your night workout. In fact, many professional athletes and bodybuilders do so as they eat 5 to 6 meals a day. 3) Don't go to sleep with a hungry stomach! Don't think that you can lose more weight by not eating anything after your workout. If you let yourself go hungry, you are conditioning your body to store fat. And that is never good! Also, you may wake up in the middle of the night due to a grumbling empty stomach just to look for food. That will disrupt your sleep patterns and you won't be able to keep up your night workouts for long.
