Whey Protein Shake -
Viewing: Sharon is new to dieting and feels nervous about consuming whey protein shakes. She asks us this question... Sharon: where can I buy this product? I'm new at starting my diet and I'm nervous. I'm very budgeted on my expenses with it as well.. Hi Sharon, Thanks for your question. Good to hear that you are starting on a diet. It's common to feel a little nervous when you haven't actually consume whey protein shakes before. Reason is because you don't know how your body will react and therefore, you start to feel some anxiety. You can always buy a few pre-packed whey protein shakes and try them out first. See if you like the taste and more importantly, observe if your body reacts to the drinks adversely. You shouldn't feel any pain or discomfort. If you do, consult a doctor immediately. Also, if you are lactose intolerant, you should avoid whey protein products as they contain lactose. Otherwise, whey protein shakes are generally safe. You can buy whey protein shakes from any local health store. Major online retailers like Amazon sell them too. I don't know where you reside, so do check with your local health store. Stores that sell supplements usually carry whey protein powders. Since you are on a budget, I'd also like to mention that pre-packed whey protein shakes are usually more expensive than whey protein powders. You get about 60 to 70 servings in a 5 lb tub that cost about $50. That works out to slightly more than a dollar per serving. But if you buy a pre-packed protein shake, that will cost you about $3 to $4. And if you buy from a gym, be prepared to pay even more. Even if you drink a protein shake every day, a single 5 lb tub can last you for 2 months or more! That's a small price to pay in exchange for better health. Prices for protein powders range from $45+ to high $80. You don't have to go for the high end powders as those are usually branded products that are consumed by hardcore fitness enthusiasts or professional bodybuilders. As long as the product says it contains whey protein isolates (not concentrates), it should do fine. Hope that helps. |
